Chickanellas serves breakfast and lunch
and are open 5 days a week, Wednesday - Sunday 8am to 2pm.
“Chickanellas does not serve fried foods,” says Douglas. “everything is made fresh and made from scratch.”
Some of the breakfast favorites include made-from-scratch pancakes like blueberry pecan, cranberry walnut, or the “Big
Daddy Love’s” - two pancakes, one loaded with bacon and one with their homemade breakfast sausage and it’s served with two eggs.
Chicanellas serves wraps, sandwiches, and salads for lunch and they offer a different homemadesoup each day of the week and change those soups every month. Randy and Sherry Wilbourn commented on Chickanellas’ facebook page saying, “We love Chickanellas sandwiches!! My husband and I order different sandwiches, so we can share.”
Douglas says Chickanellas has also become very well known in the Grove area for their homemadequiche and desserts. Desserts to choose from include the Humming Bird Cake, Peanut Butter Pie, Brownie Pie and Bread Pudding...just to name a few of their customer’s favorites.
“Our future plans are to have seating in the backyard area,” says Douglas. “As summer approaches,
and if the demand is there, we will look at extending our hours for the summer season.”

Moved to Monkey Island
There’s a new look and a new location, but the same scrumptious food at Chickanellas in Grove, OK
“My husband and I have had a lake home here in Grove since 2006,” says Debbie Douglas, owner of Chickanellas. “We moved here permanently from Kansas City, Mo in March of 2012 to open Chickanellas.”
Chickanellas is a boutique style restaurant and after
establishing a loyal customer base, they outgrew their original location
at the historic Corey Hotel in Downtown Grove. In September
2014, Chickanellas moved to its current location at 5550 North 59 Highway.
“I wanted to make sure that our new home would allow us to keep the quaint and personal relationship that we developed with our customers,” says Douglas.
When this location became available, I contacted the owners, Lisa and Greg Houck and decided this would be a perfect match.”
One of the unique and charming things about Chickanellas new location is the themed rooms. Douglas says she knew she wanted each room to have a
theme and after visiting the home of a friend who has an Alice in Wonderland themed bathroom, she decided to have a “Mad Hatter Tea Party” room.
“After rummaging at the local flea markets and thrift stores, we found everything we needed to pull it together including items for a “Queen of Hearts” restroom,” says Douglas. “We had a lot of fun decorating and are really
proud of how it turned out.” The “Fishing Room” is the result of living 33 years with a fisherman she says and is a combination of items Douglas has collected over the years, including gifts from customers. “people are always bringing
me things saying that they thought they would be a nice addition to Chickanellas,” she says.”Customers having lunch in the “Fishing Room,” can enjoy a hand-painted picture of our cove here on Grand Lake, an old Victoria record player,
antique fishing poles, tackle and a picture of my now 23 year old
son, Kyle, holding an eight pound bass that he and his Dad caught when Kyle was five years old.”
Along with the quaint atmosphere and themed rooms, what you will remember and customers gush about is the food. “my husband and I were here the other day. Well, in fact just yesterday,” said a lady from Grove. "So we brought the whole family back today because it was so good.”
