Grand Lake 0′ the Cherokees is located in the northeast corner of Oklahoma. It is 45 minutes southwest of Joplin, Missouri and 90 minutes east of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Grand lake has 1,300 miles of shoreline full of resorts and marinas; you can stay on the water or in town. We fish Grand Lake year around. Winter brings us inside to our famous Crappie houses fishing for White and Black slab Crappie with a 10″ minimum length. Grand Lake is the “Number one” bass fishing lake in Oklahoma, making it home for many tournaments, such as B.A.S.S, Pro Am and RedMan.
Early spring brings on Spoonbill season. As the rains begin, the spoonbill return to the river to spawn and the fun begins! Those of you that have seen the American Outdoorsman Show, featuring Jim and spoonbill fishing, got a preview of this. Spoonbill weigh 15 to 100 pounds and can be 5 to 6 feet in length.
We catch White Bass, also called Sand Bass, running the rivers in early spring. We fish breaks and break lines by spooning in the summer. Fall fishing for white bass includes fantastic top water action.
Grand Lake has a fish called a Mississippi White, which we think is one of the best eating fish we have.
Thank you for calling, hope to fish with you soon.
