Vinita Lake Park

Construction on Vinita Lake Park began in 2016 and was officially opened in the Spring of 2017. The Park, designed as a primitive recreational space, allows citizens of Vinita and its visitors to enjoy nature in a peaceful setting, and to fish in a 45 acre lake that is filled with bass, crappie and catfish. In a cooperative effort between the City of Vinita and the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC), the park’s lake will be designated as premier trophy largemouth bass fishery in northeast Oklahoma. Thus, this effort will assure this Oklahoma reservoir will be properly managed to protect and sustain the proper fish species habitat.

The lake has a max depth of no more than 8 feet and that's at bank full. For the safety of anglers, the use of gas powered motors has been prohibited during public use hours. Kayaks, canoes and 10-ft bass boats with electric trolling motors are highly encouraged. Click HERE for directions.
