This is the start of a group of photos from a trip last weekend to Tulsa and surrounding areas in eastern Oklahoma. Pensacola Dam forms Grand Lake of the Cherokees in northeastern Oklahoma,is over a mile in length and is the world's largest multiple-arch concrete dam. The dam was completed in 1938. |

The Grove Education Foundation for Excellence (GEFFE) was established in the fall of 1997 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to help advance educational excellence in Grove, Oklahoma. In a few short months, GEFFE was established as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, adopted bylaws, organized a charter board, and held its first annual fund-raising banquet. |

Afton,Oklahoma was established as a farming community in 1886 and got it's name from the River Afton in Scotland - prominently mentioned in a Robert Burns poem. In the hey-day of Route 66 Afton was a prosperous town,but today the Interstate has taken its toll on this small Oklahoma town. There is much to see and take pictures of in Afton though. Historic architecture,vintage gas stations and fading auto courts can still be found throughout the town. |
