Located on State Highway 85 in Craig County's southeastern corner, Ketchum is one mile north of the Mayes County line and one-half mile west of the Delaware County line. Ketchum was originally established in 1899 in present Mayes County, slightly more than a mile south-southwest of its present location, on the banks of Grand River along a wagon trail. |

| Wikipedia - Grand Lake O' the Cherokees
It was created in 1940, having originally been planned prior to statehood as a source for hydroelectric power for the Cherokee Nation. Whilst an electric utility company was incorporated, the lake was not actually constructed until 1938, when construction of Pensacola Dam on the Grand River began as a Works Progress Administration project. The dam was completed in 1940, creating the lake behind it. |

National Park Service - Route 66: A Discover Our Shared Heritage Travel Itinerary -- Ed Galloway's Totem Pole Park courtesy of Betty Harris Ed Galloway's Totem Pole Park is the oldest and largest example of a folk art environment in Oklahoma; its construction lasting from 1937 to 1961. Totem Pole Park contains the original, highly decorated creations of Galloway, one of Oklahoma's premier folk artists and significant in the -visionary art- movement. The park is located just 3.5 miles off the Mother Road. All of the art objects are made of stone or concrete, reinforced with steel rebar and wood.
