Many of these small villages are completely gone now. Route 66 divides Ottawa County in half by entering just south of Baxter Springs, Kansas, and leaving just south of Afton. |

| Grove Regional Airport The National Plan of Integrated Airport System (NPIAS) has classified Grove Municipal Airport as a General Aviation airport, while the Oklahoma Airport System Plan classifies it as a Regional Business airport. The airport runway is 5,250-feet in length with a 90,000-pound weight capacity. Airport History The airport was built in 1960. Since that date, Twenty-seven (27) privately owned hangars and twenty (20) T-hangars have been added to the property. In 2002, Grove Municipal Airport received the Oklahoma Airport of the Year Award from the Oklahoma Airport Operator's Association. |

Daily demonstrations are offered by reviving many primitive skills, tools, and techniques in the age-old art of weaving and spinning. Along with finished products, The Weaver's Shop carries looms and spinning wheels, new and used, drop spindles, rovings, yarns, dyes, equipment, and accessories for the fiber artist of any level. Workshops and classes in weaving, spinning, dyeing, and fiber preparation are offered throughout the year. |
